Keep It Secret. Keep It Safe is an engaging and fun presentation designed to educate dental professionals and administrators on digital security and privacy compliance in the dental office.

 

It begins with Information Security first principles to provide the background required for attendees to make informed decisions about security that affect the necessary trade-off between confidentiality, integrity, and accessibility of information.

 

Types of online attacks, including digital attacks, password attacks, and social engineering attacks, will be explored.

 

Defence strategies for the various types of attacks, including password security and authentication methods, will be examined.

 

The lecture will also cover privacy concerns related to the collection, use, and disclosure of patient health information and how privacy laws regulate dental professionals.

 

The lecture concludes with three simple steps for building a secure digital operating environment for the attendee’s dental practice.

 

Attendees will also receive advice and tips for improving their own personal online security.
